Freaks - Where Were You When The Lights Went Out REDUX Versions
As Freaks, Justin Harris and Luke Solomon have released some of the most enduring House Music of the past two decades and none more so than their perennial classic Where Were You When The Lights Went Out.
Since its original 2003 release on their own Music For Freaks imprint, this House anthem has been a constant presence in the sets of the world’s best DJs and now this November it gets reissued on U-Boot Recordings with what may just be THE definitive remix package.
Updating things for 2011, this new remix package reworks the track into myriad new forms from Adrian Lux and Blende’s foray into jacking bass territory, dark club music at it’s very best, to Canadian producer Hirshee’s dubstep remake, a genre that was still finding its feet when the track was first released.
Rainer Weichhold takes the track in a techno direction, chopping the vocals into pounding samples for that 4am effect, whilst Tim Weeks delivers a lush piano-drenched house edit, for those atmospheric end-of-the-night, hands-in-the-air moments.
Justin and Luke revisit the track themselves, with a revocal from their fellow co-writer and singer on the original 2003 version, Stella Attar and supply three of their own Redux remixes - their subtle updates highlighting just what a classic production the original is, luscious dubby disco house of the finest order.
Finally completing the package is the original itself, still sounding as fresh as it ever did. A timeless house track, it’s snake-hipped beats, bumping bass line and Stella’s soulful vocal mantra equalling pure disco heaven, it will still be igniting dancefloors 10 years down the line.
You may know the original but these edits are modern classics, guaranteed to introduce Freaks to a new generation of clubbers and keep that killer hook embedded in your brain long after the lights go out.

Guess what... no boring bios this time. We have news for you.... Frenchy Greg Cerrone moved to New York!!!But I guess you knew that already, no? ;-)
But what you don't know is that Greg Cerrone created a song on his first night flight to New York. Being inspired by brightness of our precious full moon, Greg immediately decided to dedicate a song to it. 'The Moon' was born on the plane and portrays the deep and trippy caracter of the song. On the remix duty, Spanish rising star Ivan Pica and French based upcoming producer Malcom B.
Heavily championed by the likes of Paul Van Dyk, David Vendetta, Alex Kenji, Aga Heller, Kim Fai, Nico De Ceglia and many more!
John Dahlback has sailed back to his first love 'U-Boot' on which he already released 'Out There' featuring Basto! and a Hugg & Pepp track 'Sweet Rosie' which were both club hits and even made it to national radios across Europe and the UK.
'Come Undone' is his brand new track on U-Boot which he wrote together with Tommy Trash and the lovely Sam Obernik. It is a perfect exemple of hard studio work combined with the guts to go for a cross over track. Remixer Stefano Noferini tops it off with a tech house stonker.

Hard Rock Sofa are one of the hottest house producers around at this moment. With releases in the bag for Axtone, Mutants, Cr2, PinkStar, Sirup, N.E.W.S and Nervous, Hard Rock Sofa quickly gained a solid reputation and are heavily supported by Pete Tong, Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and John Dahlback just to name a few.
For their debute on U-Boot they asked their studio buddies Swanky Tunes to make a destroying club remix. Another act to watch for 2011 by the way... Very positive that they will come up with some big tunes!
